Sometimes, I really do consider myself to be a large child. To me, it’s all about the little things.
I can have a rotten day and just a small thing, like someone waving to show appreciate for me letting them over can make my day. It gives me hope that there are still people out there with decency and courtesy, aka MANNERS. Anyway, that’s not that point.
The point is… acting like a kid sometimes can get you through the day. So, while at the summer convention and expo my company hosts annually, we got the great idea that we should all participate in jumping photos. It had been a very long few days and we were all slowly losing momentum. At first we felt a little silly but the outcome was fantastic! Everyone, even those who were hesitant to participate, enjoyed it. Being able to let your guard down and allow others to see the goof in you is actually very freeing. You can see my photo above.
Next time you are with a group on a trip, at a family gathering, etc. and you feel like moral is down and everyone is a bump on a log, you should try it. If nothing else, the photos you get will burn calories from your laughter!

Hoax

Mashable confirmed what I thought. Dry-erase resignation was a Blair Witch Project. Still funny.

Girl Quits Her Job on a Dry Erase Board

This is just too awesome. It is kind of hard to believe it is actually real, but still funny!

Get Lost in the Land of Random

Stumbled upon this site through an article sent to me by my boss. Forwarding it to my home email address to look at later, or else I won’t get any work done. I’m sure someone with heightened curiosity could spend hours on this site jumping all over the web.

NOTCOT.org for your ideas+aesthetics+amusement.

Life is short - stand on your tip-toes.

Me

I think I’ve mentioned this on my blog before but I love the magazine Fast Company. Recently I heard about their “Influence Project” where you can sign up and then spread the word and hopefully influence someone else to join the project. You are ranked… yadda yadda yadda. I joined just to be a part of this cool social experiment and would like to see how it turns out.

Anyway, that’s how I stumbled onto the Influence Project blog, and ultimately ended up at a video on Ted.com (another one of my favorite resources for things interesting and inspiring). I followed it to YouTube where I could get the code to embed and share with you.

I haven’t even watched the whole thing, but after 2 minutes I decided I have to share. When you have 10-15 minutes, I encourage you to watch this video about doing what you love and not making any excuses. I’m going to watch it in it’s entirety as soon as I get off work. Enjoy!

Cornholio says what??

This could be the best thing MTV has done in over a decade. If they pass, I will have officially lost all faith in MTV.

Bad design blog, bad!

Like any other ambitious young professional, I often read blogs about my profession to stay on top of my game. I subscribe to a few feeds to make life easier. Yesterday I was disgusted and appalled by a blog that claims to be a resource for graphic designers. GraphicDesignBlog.org posted info about a free logo making tool online.

First of all - do you know your audience? You are insulting the people you rely on to read your blog. Free logo making tools are a disgrace to the design community and should NEVER be encouraged. This type of service undermines REAL designers and devalues our profession.

Second of all - Businesses invest unspeakable amounts of money on start-up and marketing. Why would a smart businessman or businesswoman NOT want to invest money to have a professional designer research and design a logo based on the company’s core mission, vision, and style.

I have unsubscribed from this feed. (And I’m sure I’m not the only one.)

“Text to Like” Question - Help!

I’m trying to figure out how to prompt people to “text to like” a fan page on Facebook. Does anyone know what number they need to text, what the text needs to say, etc. Help!

In the mood for more than coffee?

Typically I’m a black coffee drinker; add-ins, no thank you. However not long ago I spotted my co-worker doing something interesting. She was putting vanilla ice cream in her coffee cup?! I thought it was odd, but, to each their own.

Which leads me to this morning. I was craving more than a standard black coffee. While waiting on our coffee machine to brew I remembered my co-worker’s odd creation and the chocolate ice cream in the freezer of our break room. A half a scoop of that with some Dunkin Donuts french vanilla and voilà - bliss! My enjoyment almost makes it feel like Friday. Almost.
